Menu with about 5 courses. About 40 €
High quality sashimi
Very good but also very expensive and unusual sushi
Amazing food, great owners! Best sushi I had in a long long time (in Europe).
Excellent Japanese food! We ordered the omakase - 7 course meal, 40 € from 2 persons - absolutely recommendable! We were served really nicely, every course and every detail was explained on our plates, the food was very fresh and the chef even came out of the kitchen to explain that we'd better eat the eel immediately so he could good is warm. The only downside: it is rather expensive, but for the quality of the food in my opinion justified! Definitely worth a visit, preferably with a full purse and an empty stomach;)
Perfect, best sushi place in Vienna.
Really awesome! 🍣10/10 oishi! 😋
Amazing sushi, gentle couple running the restaurant: one of my favourite places in Vienna.
Exquisite sushi, lovely service
A nice looking Japanese restaurant run by Taiwanese. We ordered the most orthodox one and it was just acceptable on my Japanese taste buds. In Japan, normally green tea is served right away for free, and they say it's an authentic Japanese restaurant but don't serve any.Decor is beautiful, nice and simple. Menu had lots of variety. But from Japanese point of view something was different.
One of the very best Japanese Restaurants in Vienna! Be careful though, you may never want to eat Sushi and Maki anywhere else after you tried them here.
Still one of the best Japanese restaurants in the area for me. The two hosts are always very accommodating and friendly, explain a lot about Japanese food culture. They prepare Omakase menus, which are stations on a wonderful foray into the kitchen of Japan. But even if the hunger is not very pronounced, sushi is also very fine. Overall a recommendation!
nov 2018: new location, still great food, still very nice staff. already looking forward to eat more there :-)nov 2017: the benkei moved some time ago from ungargasse 6 to ungargasse 65. have not been to the new location, not sure if 4 stars are still true. will test it soon.
Awesome udon soup!
Very good food and you did not have to wait long. The service was really nice and charming.Only small suggestion: quiet music in the background would be quite pleasant. Since we were the first guests it was partly spooky. :)
We love this restaurant! The sushi is to die for and the staff very friendly. I can only recommend !!!
Simple and simple, the best Suhsi eatery in Vienna, extremely fresh food, sometimes it takes a bit longer, but it's worth every wait. A real insider tip in Vienna
Very fresh Sushi and very good service. Price reasonable.
nice place, good food!
My favorite place in Vienna
Extremely authentic cuisine with the best sushi in the city. Staff are very courteous and polite. You feel almost at home because of the mood. Also recommended is the menu, which consists of seven courses, a mix of sushi and other Asian specialties. Can the Benkei therefore highly recommend-we will be back soon!
Great food, great workers!
Absolutely great food and very friendly service !!
Great sushi
Great fresh food, priced medium, authentic Japanese
Very authentic and not the normal European Japan restaurant.Very well eaten and very good service. The map offers some not very well known. We ordered a selection and loved itGladly again
Delicious
..maybe the best sushi location in town
For the main course I had the house specialty, a fish fillet Teriyaki. Quality and taste were really excellent. The mere fact that the size of the portion was at most an appetizer puts the prices on the menu into a high-priced restaurant. For half a bowl of rice you have to pay € 2. And I had to add that to the € 12 for the "main course". Although the friendly waitress previously said the rice was there. Probably a misunderstanding. The staff speaks Chinese. Ergo, expect 50 € per person if you want to get full.
Great restaurant; was a sushi chef myself, I really appreciate the quality of the food & service I received. Benkei is on top of my must-visit list, I'll for sure visit here again when I travel to Vienna next time.
Excellent japanese food; especially so in a landlocked place like Vienna. Highly recommend the sushi set.
Very good food. Especially the sushi is a poem. I was there for lunch with my girlfriend (by her recommendation) for the first time. It is a very authentic and nice restaurant with specially selected dishes and drinks. On demand there is also the possibility to sit in the Washitsu rooms. The owners very nice. Card payment is also possible there. We will be back.
Amazing!!!!
Excellent Japanese food. Decor is puristic and focus on the preparation of the food. Sashimi so tender and soft as nowhere else; miso soup was a poem. Everything was really great. A star deduction because there were longer waiting times between the courses, but it is worth it.
Excellent food! The Japanese beer also tastes very good!
food is delicious! full points for quality, taste and presentation! service was very friendly too! we waited a very long time and the dishes came completely random and they don‘t have coffee - that‘s why I cannot give 5 stars. the pictures show sesame spinach (WOW), prawn and veggie tempura, rainbow sashimi and crispy fried chicken.
A must in Vienna. Really very good also internationally
The Benkei is probably one of the best Japanese restaurants in Vienna. Unfortunately, there is neither a homepage od FB, just a phone number and email address. After moving to location Rennweg the place is a bit sober but the quality is just as high and the owners lovable and service oriented.Especially the lunch menu is great and accordingly well-frequented, reservations and / or pre-order by phone is a good tip.
Very lovely Japanese restaurant operated by a lovely Taiwanese family. The cuisine is very up to a high authentic level. Quality of sashimi is very good; the freshness can easily be tasted. Chirashi sushi is a must. Lunch menu is very economic and well priced. Good selection of drinks and local wines. Main dishes range from sushi, maki, sashimi, all kinds of rice, and tempuras. Great many starter choices as well. Will definitely go back on my next visit to Vienna. A hidden gem in this area. Cash and card both accepted.
Very good sushi! We loved the chef which was telling us that the average time she needs to make a sushi is 7 minutes - 10 when under pressure 😅 - so take your time, relax in this authentic Japanese restaurant and enjoy amazing food!
Authentic Japanese Food
Very good Japanese in Vienna. Super nice and great food. I absolutely recommend.
Lovely small Japanese restaurant that serves very fresh, high quality food. Would recommend for a return visit. :)
It was really nice! Staff was also friendly!
For me the best sushi in Vienna, which I have to admit is not hard, but the sushi here is really good.
Sushi menu was unfortunately already closed, so we tried an amazing Salmon Teriyaki and a chicken meal. both were delicious. And I seriously recommend the tea soup :)
Best Japanese cuisine in Vienna
The atmosphere cozy little restaurant, family property! The waitress is very nice and the dishes are pretty good :)
Was there for lunch. Excellent food in high quality at very reasonable prices.
It is and remains one of the first addresses, if you are looking for really good nigiri! Wonderful fish quality! Good service! And the warm court are in a class of its own, and you will find in Vienna only a maximum of 2 other Japanese who offer this level! Absolutely first class !!!
The diner was great: very fresh sushi, black cod marinated with miso and udon noodlesThe staff is very kind!
